64 comics from around the U.S. and Canada vie for cash and prizes this september...actually it's 30 weeks of work at major comedy clubs around the country...plus, it's in veags!!
I opened my email on my I-touch early this morning and the way i had to scroll down, the 'who made it' list looked like i hadn't made it...but as i scrolled further down i saw my name on the quarter-final list of shows...YEEHAAA!!
That first list was the wild-card list...45 comics competing to get on our list...but originally thinking it was THE list...are you confused yet? Funny, the thoughts that went through my head as i read the names of comics on the first list, i was surprised how competitive i was. A fellow comic, who owns a comedy club in scottsdale was on that list and i was thinking thank goodness he'll never know i didn't make it...cuz we had a falling out and...anyways. Another comic from my phoenix days was on that list and thought...gosh, if he knew i didn't make it...instead of feeling happy for them i made it all about me...SAD!!
BUT, these guys are very talented and i wish them both the best of luck!!
congrats also to Tim Babb, we did the SF competition together last year...and also to Chris Bennett, a comic also from phoenix who made an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show and Andrew Norelli who i perform with this weekend.
